During 2008 in Long Itchington there have been several activities to celebrate St Wulfstan's millennium.
1000 daffodils were planted beside the churchyard in the autumn, which provided a beautiful display in the Spring.

For Holy Trinity church itself, new kneelers for the St Wulfstan side chapel in Holy Trinity, Long Itchington, and a medieval-style triptych (or, more accurately, quadtych!) have been made. (See the picture of part of the flower festival, below, and the link to the report and more pictures.)
For real ale lovers, the Harvester pub in the square serves 'St Wulfstan Ale'.

March
21st Good Friday:
The Journey - a passion play in the
streets of Long Itchington, with 'St Wulfstan' as narrator, depicting
events in the life of Jesus from his baptism to his crucifixion and
resurrection.
God blessed us with fine weather (apart from an appropriate deluge for
the baptism scene) and large crowds, many of whom commented how moving
it was. If anyone has any photos to share, please contact Tim.

On Saturday 7th there was a church full to hear
Music for a Summer Evening, by the Outreach Singers who provided an amazing concert with a variety of styles of music.
The Festival ended with an ecumenical service on Sunday
8th at 6pm, with Bishop John Stroyan (Anglican bishop of Warwick)
and Bishop William Kenny (Catholic auxilliary bishop of Birmingham). Again, the church was full, and there were representatives from churches in Southam as well as Long Itchington. Refreshments afterwards provided an opportunity to meet one another, and the evening provided a fitting end to the weekend's celebrations.

(It contained many annotations by Coleman, Wulfstan's Prior and Biographer.)
